How to Make International Calls?

Calling cards are the simple and accessible solution for making international calls

Calling cards are the simple and accessible solution that made keeping in touch with our loved ones easier. Making international calls with these cards is easy and can be done from basically anywhere. Companies are now offering exciting features to make your international calling more enjoyable and stress free.

Once you buy a calling card, placing international calls is a simple process. You will be provided a toll-free number, that you can access anytime, dial a PIN and the destination number, where the call is being made. NobelCom also offers the option of using Local Access Numbers, a local alternative to toll-free numbers that gives more minutes to the user.

There are several codes involved in making international calls. After entering the PIN, you will be prompted to enter the country's code, and the number, if it's a mobile phone. For landlines, after the country code, the city code is dialed. The connection for your international call is made instantly and you will be prompted for the minutes you have left.

To make your international calls more easy, NobelCom provides the PIN-less dialing option in the United States or Canada. This way you can register your phone numbers with the card's code and never dial your PIN when making international calls. Once your call is connected, you will be prompted for the minutes left and billed according to the minute rounding of your phone card.

Many phone card providers have appeared since the first ones brought by NobelCom in 1998. There are now hundreds of phone card companies, most of them known as resellers, since they do not have their own fiber-optic networks. The phone card market is highly competitive, allowing customers to enjoy high-quality services at very low rates.

The following guidelines will explain the most common steps applied when you want to make international calls:

  1. Dial the access number
  2. At the prompt, enter your PIN number
  3. At this point, the balance on your phone card is announced
  4. The prompt asks you to enter the destination number
  5. This will be the full international dialing code. (International Access Code, 011 from USA, 00 when being outside USA, then the country code for the country you require).
  6. You are informed of the number of minutes you have for your destination.

Please make sure you DO NOT PRESS CALL or SEND BUTTON on your phone after you enter the destination number. This is to avoid being charged by your cellular provider for the international call.
